Watch the film, The House I Live In. Take notes and fully engage with what Jarecki wants you to think about. He even admits that he is biased and wants to make you think his way. He is making an argument by presenting information in a specific way, just as you do in your essays.
In this blog, I want you to react to the film first, then think about: What is the main argument? What is the cause of the prison population growth in this country? Should we change it? Compare this to the prison system in other countries if possible.
Think about what information he presents and how. Does he make his point effectively? Why or why not?
